Richard Evanoff is originally from Massillon, Ohio, USA but has lived in Japan for most of his adult life. He teaches intercultural communication and international ethics in the School of International Politics, Economics, and Communication at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. Evanoff is a member of various academic associations related to intercultural philosophy and environmental ethics, and has published widely in these fields. He has been active in literary circles in Tokyo as an editor and writer, and is the author of numerous literary works, including a novel, short stories, and poetry. He is also a community organizer and environmental activist, and has been involved with Buddhist, Shinto, and Christian religious groups.
